Designed as the entry lobby for the original YWCA in 1930, The Historic Y Main Lobby is the property’s most architecturally resplendent interior space. This climate-controlled communal area readily accommodates receptions, gatherings, and other festive events at any time of year. The Historic Y Main Lobby and adjoining ground-floor areas are wheelchair accessible.
The Historic Y Main Lobby is accessed directly from Fifth Avenue or down a hallway from the Courtyard and is generally available in the evenings or on weekends when it does not conflict with performances at the Scoundrel and Scamp Theatre. The cost for private and for-profit events is an initial fee of $50 plus $50/hour. The space is available for nonprofit and arts, education, social justice, and environmentally related events for an initial fee of $30 plus $30/hour.
